GIVE TO SLC

FSL Donate Now Button

For many, the month of May brings flowers, Cinco de Mayo, Mother's Day, and Memorial Day. For Sarah Lawrence and The Fund for Sarah Lawrence, the month of May brings Teacher Appreciation Day – May 7; Commencement – May 24; and the end of the 2013 fiscal year - May 31. All are very important dates in our calendar and we hope are in yours. Please circle the first two dates and make your donations to the Fund even more meaningful by contributing on those dates. On May 7, you can make your gift in honor of a special faculty member or beloved Don. On May 24, you can donate as a tribute to the graduating class of 2013. All gifts provide for student scholarships, faculty resources, and campus enhancements. Please don't let May 31 pass you by without participating in the 2013 Fund. Your generosity enables SLC students to translate passion into practice. Our SLC Alumni epitomize problem solving. Please solve our problem of the need for academic and extra-curricular resources for all students. It's not a question of can you or MAY you but when you will make your FSL contribution to help our students to learn, to grow, to transform. You can mail your contribution to the 2013 Fund for Sarah Lawrence to 1 Mead Way/Bronxville, NY 10708; call us at 914-395-2533 or donate on line at www.slc.edu/give

Please Vote for SLC students in Hult Prize Regional Finals

A group of students from SLC, Teresa Phiri '13, Jackie Assar '14, Maria Munoz '13, Jeamme Chia '13 and Sachi Shah '15, entered the prestigious Hult Prize competition, a start-up accelerator for social entrepreneurship. Their project promotes the use of aquaponics, a combination of fish culture and hydroponics to grow vegetables. It employs a shareholding business model that would empower groups of residents in poverty stricken areas to implement, manage, and master the technology so that they can benefit from the results of their investments and labor themselves, growing food for their own consumption and selling it to others.

The SLC students made the regional finals, but in order to make the finals, they have to get as many votes as possible on an online video competition.

All you have to do is:

  1. Log into your Facebook
  2. Click on this link:
  3. Click on "Watch and Vote"
  4. Scroll to find "Aquasol Aquaponics" Sarah Lawrence College. (Make sure it is the right one!)
  5. Click "Vote"
