Join us for our annual Happy Hour at Stout NYC for SLC alumni and student athletes. Our multi-talented students are eager to meet and network with alumni of all ages and learn about career paths after Sarah Lawrence. This evening is sponsored by the SLC Athletics Department and Campbell Sports Center staff will be on hand as we celebrate the academic, community service, and athletic achievements of our students. Appetizers will be provided and the first drink is included with your registration.

Network with fellow filmmaking alumni during the Tribeca Film Festival! The Filmmaking, Screenwriting and Media Arts program and the Alumni Relations office will be holding its 2nd annual Tribeca Meet Up for filmmaking alumni at Distilled NY (211 W. Broadway), a hip spot for gastropub fare in the heart of Tribeca. This event is open to the first 30 people who sign up. Ticket includes two drinks and appetizers. For all of you with fond memories of our Monday Afternoon Discussions (MAD), we are holding our first-ever graduate version. GRAD MAD will be an opportunity to have a glass of wine, discuss issues in the news that are affecting the field of genetic counseling, and catch up with your peers and classmates. Join Rosalind Ferstenberg, Manager of Alumni Networking and Affinity Programs, as she covers best practices and results-oriented strategies for an effective job search. She will address the use of the open and hidden job markets, establishing weekly objectives, and keeping track of your progress. She will also focus on the importance of your job search tool box, and the use of LinkedIn and networking to facilitate the process.

Join us for a webinar on Careers in Public Health, presented by Caitlyn Blake MA ’11, Health Advocacy, Senior Benefit Analyst at Hays Companies. Her presentation is on the variety of different career paths one can take in the arena of public health and the unique ways to gain experience in the field. As a Senior Benefits Analyst, Caitlyn works with companies of all sizes, industries, and locations to connect them with health and wellness programs that fit their company culture and help reduce health care costs. Prior to working as an Analyst, Caitlyn worked for the Minnesota Department of Health as a Health Educator working on created tailored health communications for at risk groups. Her public health journey has also lead her to working overseas in Morocco for an HIV/AIDS clinic and a children’s non-profit organization. She strongly believes that a variety of interests, backgrounds, and experience can add great value to the world of public health and open up doors you never would have expected.
