Sarah Lawrence reunions are an unforgettable celebration of education and lasting friendships! Nominations for the Citation Awards are being sought to honor outstanding alumni celebrating a milestone Reunion in 2020 (undergraduate class years ending in 0 and 5). Citation Awards will be presented on Saturday, June 6 at a celebratory luncheon during Reunion 2020 (June 4-7). Please complete the nomination form no later than December 16, 2019. Sonja Sekula '41: One of Abstract Expressionism's Sparkling Amazons |
Sonja Sekula ’41 will be one of eleven female Abstract Expressionists to be featured in a Katonah Museum of Art exhibit this fall. Titled Sparkling Amazons: Abstract Expressionist Women of the 9th St. Show, the exhibit will present 32 works by women artists who were part of the 1951 “9th Street Show” in New York, which the museum describes as “a pivotal moment for the emergence and acceptance of Abstract Expressionism.” The exhibit, which includes seven paintings by Sekula, opens on October 6 and will run through January 26, 2020. Concentrating on Alumni |
A course with Demetria Royals exploring the use of technology in the modern world helped steer Yvonne Sangudi '10 through her time at the College and her career. "[I] spent three months working on my first album, which I presented during our last class. The album led me to perform for distinguished personalities, including the president of Tanzania, Jakaya Kikwete, in 2007, first lady Laura Bush and the president of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, in 2008." Join us on campus at the Campbell Sports Center for Homecoming! Cheer on the women's and men's varsity basketball teams and have fun all night. We'll have a special Alumni Room in the downstairs lounge with beer, wine, snacks, and SLC spirit. There will be concessions by SSSF and a vintage uniform sale by SAAC.
