Join us for a special tour of "A Dark and Scandalous Rockfall" at the Mexican Cultural Institute with Barbara Liotta '74. This site specific exhibit features the work of Perla Krauze and Barbara Liotta '74, artists from both sides of the Mexico-United States border. The title of the exhibit is drawn from the poem "Dry Rain" by Mexican poet Pedro Serrano, which begins: "At times the poem is a collapse/ a slow and painful landslide/ a dark and scandalous rockfall." Both artists use the material and metaphorical qualities of stone to evoke landscape and classical sculpture. Given the current state of U.S.-Mexico relations, this exhibition presents a healing gesture, recognizing our shared history. Members of Wellesley Friends of Art will be joining the tour. There will be an optional tour of the Mexican Cultural Institute after the exhibit tour.
